History
Man evolved from bacteria, to monkeys and them to humans. They did hunter-gathering, discovered fire and then did agriculture. Established societies, towns, cities and then kingdoms. The medieval times were mostly feudal where we had kings and kingdoms across islands, waging naval warfare on each other for territory.
Once magic was discovered, it was like the renaissance. Suddenly, information could be sent across islands in instants. Arcane crystals could be magically programmed to show information as needed. It led to the consolidation of all humanity and it eventually transformed into a democracy called the Alliance.
Eventually humanity managed to unlock the secrets of their Obelisk. They started rapidly expanding to different continents via their Obelisk. This led to them finding the Tieflings which led to the First Contact War. Which eventually led to humanity’s introduction to the World and the Council.
Humanity has currently established itself as one of the newest but fastest growing member of the Council in terms of influence. Their tenacity and versatility has allowed them rapid acclimatisation of the new political scenario.
Unfortunately some small council races and the Tieflings think that humanity is growing too fast. They do not openly object, but the whispers are there.
Humanity continued to expand to unclaimed star systems on the edge of Citadel space, which eventually led to competition with the Batarians. When the batarians tried and failed to convince the Council to declare the Skyllian Verge “a zone of batarian interest”, they closed their embassy and withdrew from Citadel space. Viewing humans as the cause of their fall from grace, batarians frequently came into conflict with human colonies, especially batarian slavers. Tensions between humans and batarians persist for decades.
